Butler Park is a casual, fun, par 3, 9-hole golf course right in the middle of downtown Austin. The event will include a round of golf with teams of up to 6 golfers from casual to competitive with an assortment of prizes on the line for both winners and almost-winners. We'll have live music, beverages and food from some local hot spots. Proceeds from the registration fees and tickets for non-golfers, as well as donations and a silent auction, will go directly to our beneficiary Hungry Souls. Our inaugural event last year was a great success, and we are looking to build on that in 2022. Every day in the greater Austin area there are over 100,000 children who are food insecure. That means 1 out of 5 kids doesn't know where their next meal will come from. Hunger has a direct effect on a child's educational performance and experience. This results in an inability to concentrate, behavioral problems, poor performance in school and a higher dropout rate. Hungry Souls is working hard to fight that statistic. Hungry Souls is an Austin-based non-profit that partners with local schools to provide weekend and holiday meals for students and their families. They provide opportunities for food-insecure children to succeed, thrive, and break the cycle of poverty.
